What is the situation on Agra Road

According to the report, cylinders are being provided directly to consumers from four-wheeler cargo vehicles on Agra Road, whereas these cylinders are generally meant for home delivery. In the rush to get cylinders, consumers are lining up on the road as early as eight in the morning. Consumers are forced to collect cylinders themselves from roads, warehouses, and temporary locations.

Who is being affected

Standing in queues for hours is causing significant trouble for women and the elderly. People heading to work are also having to skip their jobs to wait for cylinders. The inconvenience for consumers has increased further due to the requirements for puja and cooking just before Diwali.

Background

Between March and May of this year, reports of crowds at agencies, e-KYC issues, and booking server problems regarding LPG had also surfaced in Hathras. At that time, the administration had stated that there was sufficient stock of LPG in the district.

Other side

The administration or the concerned gas company's response on the current situation could not be obtained. Once a clarification regarding the reason for the queues and this system of distributing cylinders is received, it will be added to the report.
